Garage door repair work by Q Garage Doors
Diagnosis

Common failures, plainly explained

Broken torsion spring

The most common call

A loud bang, then a door that won't lift — the spring that carries its weight has failed. The door is now 150+ pounds of dead load; don't run the opener. Springs are replaced in pairs so the survivor doesn't fail weeks later.

Off-track or crooked door

Stop using immediately

A snapped cable or a bumped track. Caught early it's a straightforward repair rather than a panel replacement.

Failed opener

Repair vs. replace, honestly

Stripped gears and worn trolleys can often be repaired. When replacement is the better economics, Noah installs LiftMaster — including near-silent belt drives with Wi-Fi.

Noise, vibration, imbalance

Book a tune-up

Worn rollers and dry hinges announce themselves long before they fail. An annual tune-up is the difference between maintenance and emergency.

Questions

Before you call

What does a broken spring cost?
Typically a few hundred dollars, depending on door size and spring type. The exact figure is confirmed on site before any work begins — asking costs nothing.
How quickly can you come?
Same-day or next-day when possible. You are speaking with the person who holds the schedule, so the answer you get is the real one.
May I use the door in the meantime?
If a spring or cable has failed, no — operating the opener risks bending the top panel and converting a repair into a replacement.
Repair or replace?
Where panels and tracks are sound, repair is usually the better economics. You'll receive both numbers and a straight recommendation.
★★★★★
We had the unfortunate but common event of someone backing into our garage door while it was still opening. The door was creased and the weather stripping was ripped off. Noah came out, assessed the situation, and got the door functional again. He came out right away on one of the coldest days of the year. Thanks Q Garage Doors!
