Common failures, plainly explained
Broken torsion spring
A loud bang, then a door that won't lift — the spring that carries its weight has failed. The door is now 150+ pounds of dead load; don't run the opener. Springs are replaced in pairs so the survivor doesn't fail weeks later.
Off-track or crooked door
A snapped cable or a bumped track. Caught early it's a straightforward repair rather than a panel replacement.
Failed opener
Stripped gears and worn trolleys can often be repaired. When replacement is the better economics, Noah installs LiftMaster — including near-silent belt drives with Wi-Fi.
Noise, vibration, imbalance
